Peehole #12 - Danziggy IV!

Hey, I finished Peehole number twelve, Danziggy IV! Apparently, the official title of the fourth Danzig album is Danzig 4p, referring to some kind of satanic cult, but the album cover doesn't say anything like that and no one refers to it by that name. So instead of making a pun on that, I came up with something generally funny. Here is the cover:

I dropped off a stack at Quimby's this afternoon and updated my Etsy site for the first time in a long time. If you live in Chicago, get them at Quimby's, because Quimby's is awesome and deserve more support than some website. Buy things from me, my cats are hungry!

Happy Birthday, Danziggy!

It was two years ago today, on a night just like this, when I posted the first Danziggy comic. What I expected would be a one-off, or maybe 4 or 5 panels for the laffs and the wakka wakka, turned into an ongoing enterprise of stupid! Here's a terrible cake I made in June, as I am a terrible cakebreeder.

As I said when I started, I'll keep going until I run out of ideas or get a cease and desist order from The Evil One or the Ziggy guy. Dig!

Peehole number 11: Amazing Stories for the Easily Amazed!

I have finished the cover art for the eleventh volume of Peehole, called "Amazing Stories for the Easily Amazed".  I'll be debuting this at CAKE Chicago in two weeks. It is a collection of short comics of amusing jokes and mildly amazing folks. If you are easily amazed, then you will be amazed! If not, I hope you will be amused!

CAKE Chicago 2013!

Early warning: I'll have a table at the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo, June 15 & 16 from 11 am to 6 pm both days, at the Center On Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago.

Here's the flyer, by Jo Dery:

I am planning on having a new issue of Peehole ready for the expo, called Amazing Stories for the Easily Amazed.  Here's a sample of one of the less weird comics to be included.

Because my cats are gross. Hope to see you there!

Danziggy's Mother Knows Best!

Danziggy knows how the gods grill, but it's best to ask for mother's permission first.

Danziggy Has A Facebook Page!

No, I don't have a comic for this, Danziggy actually does have a Facebook page, since no one reads my fuckin' blog anyway. I'll be adding the old comics a few at a time to not overwhelm everyone's hunger for stupid, but he'll still have a home here. After all, I draw the l'il bastard anyway.

Since a plain text post ain't much fun, here's a t-shirt/movie idea for anyone who actually reads this crap. Enjoy!

Danziggy Is Lost!

Since Zinefest officially starts tomorrow, I have a new Danziggy comic for you. Danziggy lost his mother in the mall, so he went to the information kiosk for help!

I hope he doesn't have to look until he's bleeding!

Peehole #10: Voids!

With Zinefest right around the corner, I have a brand new minicomic ready! Peehole #10, Voids, will be first available this Saturday at my table at Chicago Zinefest. It is actually a set of two minicomics (very mini indeed, at 2.5" wide by 2" tall) made up of post-it note drawings from work. These are different than the post it note drawings from Peehole #1, as the folks at work knew of my activities and actively encouraged me to make them.

See, when an old file was to be sent to the archives and replaced with a new file, both files were sent to the secretary, with a post-it note on the old file saying "void", so that she would know to send it to the inactive section. I got bored and drew little pictures on mine. Here are two examples:

When I left that job, she scanned the ones she saved and sent me the files. There were about 60 I was able to clean up enough to be recognizable. Since I could not fit all of these into one tiny minicomic, I made two, which I'll have available as a set. The covers look like so:

Nice and spartan, just like my other work based drawings. This will probably be the last of my post-it-notes-from-work comics, because my current job is way too busy to give me time to doodle anything worthwhile.

Chicago zine fest 2013!

So I am doing the Chicago Zine Fest again this year, Saturday March 9! It's the same location as last year, in the Conaway Center, Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash. I'm on the top floor again, in Table 62b. I'm expecting to have a new comic ready and printed out in time for the exhibition.

Thundersnow and other news!

I've been slacking while things have been happening. First of all, the PRF Thundersnow winter getaway occurred and my performance was a rousing success. Perhaps a youtube video will pop up sometime. My post-perfomance performance was not so successful. Instead of discussing these matters, I made a pictorial history.

Secondly, I finally posted a new EP to bandcamp, which I have called Dutch Courage. Recorded at Caffeinated Recordings in December 2010 and 2011, and I have been sitting on it for no reason. So, here it is!

I'm offering it for free right now. Maybe someday I will want to have extra cheese on my Whopper value meal and will charge money for it, maybe I won't. Anyhoo, dig.
